5 Trends You Need in 2016

tee is old, similar here || pants || backpack || sneakers

As promised last week I wanted to share with you how I styled the same chic joggers in two different ways; one dressy and one casual. You are definitely most likely to see my rocking my cute summer joggers with sandals or sneakers, so this look feels more easy to achieve for everyone. This is such an easy 'mom look' but most importantly, you aren't trading style for comfort because as great as this look is for casual summer days, I love that it is also still on trend for fall. Cool sneakers are such a must-have and can be worn with virtually everything. I have been wanting the perfect chic all white, classic sneaker, and these Stan Smith Adidas were perfect for me!

When it comes to must-have pieces to incorporate into your wardrobe, 2016 has a lot to offer — from classic silhouettes to feminine details and modern twists on all-time favorites, this year’s trends ensure there is something in the lineup that every fashionista out there will love. For ensembles that are instantly chic and of-the-moment (in this season and the next), add these five trends to your fashion arsenal.

Pantsuits
Very much a part of the 70s-inspired throwback the fashion world is currently experiencing, matching separates — such as the pantsuit — are undergoing a makeover for 2016, transforming them from a dowdy don’t into a definite do. As Style Caster notes, the new power suit is slim, stylish, and often colorful, making it just as suitable for a night out as it is for the boardroom.

Mules
Versatile, chic, and surprisingly wearable, the mule is a classic shoe that has enjoyed a bit of an update this season. While the sandal-style mule is still a go-to, silhouettes now include everything from oxford-inspired mules to the flat mule (ideal for girls on the go). For inspiration, browse Lyst’s gallery of on-trend heels, which includes a design to suit every occasion and a mule (or two) that is sure to take your footwear collection to new heights.

Split Front Skinnies
Love them or hate them, skinny jeans reign supreme as the top denim silhouette season after season. And while the standard pair of skinnies are a staple in every fashion-conscious gal’s closet, there’s no reason you can’t switch it up every now and again. For an extra-chic take on the skinny jean, The Zoe Report suggests trying a split-front style – the subtle design detail will elevate your average denim to add a bit of pizzazz to any ensemble.

Classic White Sneakers
Proving sneakers aren’t just for the gym, 2016 has transformed the work-out essential into a versatile shoe that can be worn anywhere — whether that means strolling through the park or grabbing a bite to eat with friends. Choose a trainer in a crisp, white hue and proceed to pair with a knit midi-dress, denim cut-offs, kick flare jeans, or a pair of polished cream culottes for a more elegant twist.

Ruffled Dresses
Romantic, flirty, and just a little ethereal, ruffles instantly create an eye-catching ensemble, especially when paired with a feminine silhouette, such as a dress. According to Glamour, dramatic, beautiful, cascading ruffles are a must-have for anyone with a penchant for luxury or drama — making them the ideal accent for a night out or an evening soiree. Look for the ladylike detail on a dress for a bold finish or, for a more subtle effect, opt for a ruffled blouse.
