Beach Waves

I often get asked how I get my hair to curl in that easy breezy beach wave style you see me rock so often, so I wanted to share my techniques with you all using one of my favorite beauty products, Garnier which I found recently at Wal Mart.

(my little helper loving the smell)

I love the new Whole Blends line by Garnier  because they use natural ingredients that are so great for your hair. I love how they smell, and they have been leaving my hair so soft and silky that it allows for that pretty natural and loose wave that I love. I chose to try the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk line because coconut is so hydrating and good for your hair, and I like to use products that make my hair feel and look soft. I have been coloring my hair for a few years after having complete virgin hair, so if there is any way I can quench it with moisture, I am always doing so.

The Whole Blends Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk comes in a shampoo, conditioner, and a conditioning mask. I LOVE a great hair mask, and what is great is you can use theirs in the shower, which makes the ease of it the best. You coat your hair with it, leave it in for three minutes, and then rinse it out - it is honestly so easy! Since I shower at night, I try to use it in my hair 2-3 times per week and have noticed such incredible results. I barely have to brush through my hair on the nights I use it, and the next morning when I wake up with dry hair, it isn't frizzy or tangled at all!! I bought an extra bottle to give to my mom and mother in law because they always ask me for products that help control frizz, and I like that this one is an easy step to add to your shower routine.

I loved this hair mask, I try to condition and love on my hair as much as possible since I often curl it, so using a mask a few times a week and sleeping on wet hair to dry over night so I don't have to blow dry it are a few of my 'hair friendly' tips.

How to complete a perfect beach wave:

The first step is to comb through your hair and divide it into small sections. This makes it easier to get the curling iron through and leaves your ends soft so that they don't look too drab.

I use a 1 inch curling iron and start by getting as close to my scalp as possible. I leave about 1/2 an inch of hair out at the end - this is what gives your hair that messy/natural texture so it doesn't look too constructed and 'curled.'

Continue to curl small pieces until you have done all of your hair, once you have gone completely through, let it cool down without separating the curls or brushing thought - this allows for the curls to really set so they hold longer.

I run my hands through my hair, instead of a brush, and tousle it to get that more natural and messy look. Using the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk hair mask has been helping so that my ends look soft and not dry, this has really perfected my look recently (and smells amazing all day).

I have become such a fan of Garnier Whole Blends and have event put sets of the products in my guest bathrooms. D has even started to become a fan, and the smell makes everyone feel like they are truly on a beach vacation!

With love,
Amanda
