transitioning clothing, part II

On Tuesday, I shared this look in hopes of inspiring you to stay true to your style all year long and find ways to make items you love work for every season. For me, those items are boots and leather jackets. I feel so chic, fierce, and confident in these pieces and love the edginess it adds to any ensemble. The thought of packing away these items after Winter is seriously heartbreaking to me, so I have figured out ways to make them work for all seasons.

On Tuesday I added this same leather jacket over a long floral maxi dress and paired it with my favorite cut-out booties. This time around I wanted to show how those ever-so-popular over the knee boots can work for Spring and Summer so I paired the leather jacket with this pretty baby-doll floral, added the boots, and voila, instant Spring look!

Here is a funny little secret, I actually wore this dress on the day we brought Raj home from the hospital. It is so soft and roomy and I purchased it when I was 9 months pregnant and figured if it fit me then that it would fit me when coming home from the hospital. I have since worn it quite a few times, and love that now that I am not pregnant that it fits like an oversized baby doll dress, but still looks so chic, and I kind of like the baggy look!

Remember when it comes to fashion, the rules are what you make of them. Where some people believe you can't wear white after labor day, I think it is gorgeous in the winter... if you live in California, open toed shoes are pretty much acceptable all year long... and now, I am telling you to rock those leather jackets and boots in Spring and Summer, you will for sure be seeing me do so!

With love,
Amanda
