Easter love

We have lived in Dana Point for almost 6 years now, and can you believe we have never spent an Easter here?! Having such a large family, D and I always found ourselves hopping (get it?) around from one person's house to the other and spreading ourselves between so many family functions that we were so exhausted by the end of the day and left with our heads spinning. This year we decided that for the first time, we didn't want to do that, and boy was that liberating. Its not that we don't love seeing everyone for the holidays, but rather that we have decided we would much rather spread our time getting more quality one-on-one time with family as opposed to watching the clock all day and jumping from one place to the next, that isn't fun for anyone, and its always so hard to say goodbye. It felt like our holiday dreams came true when my mom and siblings agreed to come to our place for a change. Not only did we have a weekend packed with fun times with them, but Easter was so nice to not have to be on a tight time schedule. We went to brunch, took naps, played with Easter basket toys, and went on a hunt for eggs... I would say it was an Eater Sunday well spent (except we unfortunately missed going to our 'home' church for their regular Easter production, that is something I definitely missed about spending Easter at my mom's house).

It is truly so wonderful watching Raj with his big cousins. In my family, I grew up being the youngest with older cousins and I loved it. I always knew how to be cool, what kind of music was "in" and I still feel like my older cousins teach me everything I know til this day. My brother's kids are so wonderful with Raj, they love on him, play with him, entertain him, and most of all treat him like he's their little brother... nothing makes my heart more happy, especially since I have always been so close to my brother's kid's and have always looked at them like my own kids, too!

This guy loved hunting for eggs! It was so funny to realize that he knew what he was supposed to do, I loved watching him get excited over finding the eggs.

The best feeling in the world is when Raj randomly reaches up and stretches his tiny little arm around my neck and squeals, "MOMMMMY!" ohhhhhh talk about heart bursting of so much pride and joy! My little sis was behind the lens and caught one of those exact moments and I am so thankful for that! His growing understanding of affection and emotions has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a parent, I never realized how special it would be to see, and it has hands down been one of my favorite parts of watching him grow, I have never known or felt so much genuine, warm, affection (besides from D who is pretty affectionate as well... no complaints ;))!

I truly love and adore my family so much, having them at our house over the weekend really made our Easter so special!

With love,
Amanda
