Our Community: Gymboree

One of the many things I am thankful for this year are the number of amazing families we have been so fortunate to meet in our community, and all of the credit for the friendships we have formed is due to Gymboree, Aliso Viejo. I can not begin to share with you the excited that shows on Raj's face as we pull into the parking lot, or the way he lights up at the mere glance of his favorite teachers, Mr. Ryan and Mrs. Laura. We like to joke and say that Rajan could honestly be President of Mr. Ryan's fan club in our house, because he is literally in awe of every move he makes. As a mother, especially a first time mother, there is nothing better than having a sense of community and place to call 'yours' with your new little one. Gymboree has not only provided a place of growth, activity, and social awareness for my son, but it has also provided me with a sense of belonging and helped me to blossom as a mom myself. I have formed relationships and bonds with some of the most amazing and inspirational fellow moms from our play group, and D and I have started to really build our family life with them and their husbands and babies.

As a former preschool teacher and director, I understand the value that socialization and structure provides for little ones, and from day one, D and I knew that Raj would be involved in some sort of play center as early as we could enroll him. I feel so lucky to have stumbled across Gymboree, and even more lucky that our center has some of the most gifted and skilled staff that not only Raj enjoys, but myself and family members who have been able to join us do as well. They're engaging, uplifting for the little ones, and always there to offer an ear or their best parenting advice and tips to us over-thinking mothers. We love attending Music & Play classes, Music Class, and even took a course on Sign Language a few months back which really helped to broaden Rajan's communication skills.

Here is a little look at our Halloween Party a few weeks ago...

(sanitation is key and everything that goes in the mouth then goes in a special bag for cleaning immediately after... spread love not germs!)

As we go into Thanksgiving weekend, I wanted to be sure to really let those around us know what they mean to us, and how thankful we are for them. Being new parents can be scary and challenging, and I can honestly say that joining Gymboree was the best decision we have made so far on this journey. I know we will remain close friends with the families we have met, and I am so thankful to everyone for always being so welcoming, comforting, and for loving on my little boy. I am as excited to watch Rajan's little friends and classmates grow as I am to see him take his next few steps, and I feel so blessed to be part of such a great community.

I especially want to say an extra huge Thank You to Mr. Ryan and Mrs. Laura for the awesome job you do with the kids. Your constant smiles, love, affection, and beautiful voices have such a huge impact on Rajan, and I know he just adores you, and so do Darshan and I.

Also, a special thank you to one of my newest friends, Janell of J. Aitken Photography whom I adore and love (and love her little guy especially as much) for these beautiful photos!! You truly are magic with the lens. If you are in the OC and looking for an amazing photographer, definitely check her out!

Happy almost Thanksgiving!

With love,
