It's Raining Florals

I think it is pretty safe to say that Mother Nature has had a hard time staying true to her seasonal weather patterns for the last few years. It has almost become not so uncommon for it to rain in the Summer at least a few times now. I love the rain but in the Summer, I must admit that it can be a bit of a downer. I know I shouldn't complain since it is sunny and warm almost 80% of the year in California, but isn't that the whole reason we live here in the first place - the perfect summers and endless beach and swim days?!

A regular week day habit I try to stick to is to head down to the local flower shop and stock up on fresh blooms for the rest of the week. We had quite a few rainy days here last week and so I had to stay prepared for the chance of unpredictable weather while I was out. The thing about Summer rain though is that even though it is raining, it does not actually get cold, you simply just get wet in heat - so sticky!

This light jacket is just what I needed for the rainfall in the heat. It was so perfect to keep in my car to shield myself (and my hair) from the rain drops but without being too heavy and making me even more hot than the humidity was already doing.

I am always on the lookout for the perfect cut-off denim shorts, because lets face it, what girl isn't? I stumbled across these Rag & Bone shorts while I was shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and they were too great to pass up. I love that they are shorter in the front and longer in the back because they make my legs look longer but without giving me the fear that my bum would be hanging out if I moved in the wrong direction - not a good look when toting a tot around!

If you are still looking for the perfect Summer shorts that you can wear year after year, definitely try these ones out because I can not even begin to tell you how many times I have worn them since I got them a little over a week ago; literally the amount of times would be embarrassing to admit!

We are currently sleep training Raj, and man can I say being a parent is tough! I know that obviously goes without saying but you really don't know what that will feel like until you have your first experience with your little one where you know what you are doing is what is best for them and they just don't 'get it' quite yet. I know it is best for Raj to get better sleep and D and I haven't slept for more than 3 consecutive hours through the night in literally over 9 months now ( it is safe to say we are the captains of the struggle bus)! I am really hoping after this week we can all three start to finally get some sleep around here. If any one has any tips or suggestions I would love to hear. I will be sure to keep you all posted on our progress... wish us luck!

With love,
Amanda
