Travel Diary: San Fran Part II

I hope you all enjoyed reading my post yesterday San Fran Part I. We were in the city for a total of two days and tried our best to squeeze in as much as possible... I would say that with a baby in tow we did a pretty good job!

We spent all of Day 2 sight seeing and doing fun activities that we thought the baby would enjoy. We took him for a ride on the bright red trolley and walked around Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf. The day before I had noticed he was loving the ringing sound the trolley made and watching it drive by us while we were walking around Union Square so I wanted to make a point to take him for a ride. Plus, as often as D and I have visited San Fran, I myself have never gone for a ride! I grew up watching Mr. Rogers and always dreamed of riding on one since I was little so it was pretty cool to experience that for the first time with my son.

I loved trying to look at and pay close attention to all of the things that would catch Rajan's attention. He honestly loved being in the center of all of the action and would jump, yell and get so excited anytime he heard street performers or saw something new. It really is so true what how people say that experiencing things with your children makes you look at them in a completely new way.

We wandered around the city for just a bit more and then when Raji fell asleep for his nap D and I took some time to sit and enjoy a nice brunch. Rajan stayed asleep in his stroller for a bit so it was nice for D and I to feel like we were able to have some alone time together!

After brunch we made our way down to Pier 39 so we could show Raji the seals and the water. He loved all of the fun kites flying around and loved looking at the sail boats in the water. D really wanted to take him to the NFL shop since he is a HUGE 49ers fan, and of course we walked out with all new football gear; I would probably say that was one of D's proudest moments as a dad. Uncle K and his girlfriend Youngshin came back for the afternoon to spend some more time with us. We got amazing bread bowls at Boudin Bakery and just enjoyed playing with Rajan all around the Pier for the rest of the evening!

The saddest part about taking a trip with your loved ones is when it comes to an end. I still can't believe how much of a success it was even with a 6 month old along. There is something that tells me that Rajan has inherited that wanderer gene from his dad and I and all I can do is dream about the next vacation we will take him on!

Until then, that concludes this travel diary. Thank you, San Francisco, for being so good to us... Farewell for now and we can't wait for our next visit!

With love,
Amanda
