Shop local: Serene Sky

One thing I feel very passionate about is the importance of shopping local and supporting other small businesses. My husband and I own a few Orange County businesses and so we personally understand the importance and value of having the support of other locals. Since moving the Orange County I notice that one thing that is prominent and so inspiring is the strong sense of entrepreneurship. Since moving to South OC by husband and I have both gone from working corporate/slave driving jobs (haha) to working for small businesses and eventually owning our own.

Since I have began blogging one thing I really wanted to incorporate was the strong sense of community that my husband and I feel to everyone in the OC. I love shopping at local boutiques and have been so lucky to recently have the opportunity to work with some great local clothing stores. One of my newest favs is Serene Sky. They are an online clothing store based out of Orange County, and they were kind enough to send my gal pal Lindsey (Stay Styled Blog) and I this fantastic sweater to style. We decided to put our own stylish twists on the sweater and each styled the sweater in our own way in order to show the versatility of it. This pretty pink crop top/crochet sweater is dressy enough to wear for a day in the office and business meetings, but then perfectly casual enough to throw on a pair of denim shorts with it for an after-work cocktail down at the beach!

I took my version of the sweater for a little business meeting and paired it with my fav black pencil skirt, my trusty Loubs and Celine sunnies.

I love how Lindsey styled her sweater so casually chic. This sweater pairs perfect with California weather - its loose and airy and even on a warm day is light enough to keep you cool!

If you haven't had a chance yet, check out Serene Sky's website (http://www.shopserenesky.com/collections/tops)

...and don't forget to support you local businesses!

With love,
