Mixing Patterns

I have really been trying to challenge myself lately and try new things with fashion. I tend to gravitate to more classic looks and solid colors and very rarely do I work with patterns and design. I have been so inspired lately by bloggers and stylists like Lyndie in the City to try new things and broaden my wardrobe so I thought I would take colors I am more comfortable with (black and white) and mix some fun patterns together to try something new.

I got this tweed coat for Christmas from D and I have been wearing it in so many different ways. It was perfect for the colder weather with a long sleeve under but has been comfortable with the transition into Spring and warmer weather. It is light enough and not too heavy for warm afternoons but will keep you from freezing in the cooler evenings. It is the perfect California Spring coat.

I have been wearing these Sam Edelman pumps everywhere because they are so comfortable! I love that they can be worn with so many outfits and I feel like leopard has become sort of a fashion 'basic food group.' Everyone should own a pair of great leopard shoes!

I loved adding this bright yellow and gold necklace for that perfect pop of color - such and easy way to transition this look from season to season.

It has been so nice getting back into a regular routine after all of last week's fun wedding festivities. Rajan is back on his regular sleep schedule and our house is looking less like a post epocolypse site.

Sending everyone lots of happy and positive vibes for the rest of your week!

With love,
