All Season Staples

Anyone who has seen my Instagram pics or seen a few outfit posts on here must know how much I love shoes. Like,  almost an unhealthy type of LOVE for shoes. I will spend $20 on a blouse, and splurge almost 90% of the time on a great pair of shoes. They are staples in my closet, and I believe that a great pair of shoes can transform any outfit.

One of my live-in shoes are a pair of booties I splurged on two years ago - yes, two years ago! I wear them in all seasons, for all occasions, and with an assortment of outfits. They are comfortable for all day wear, and they seem to get better the more worn-in they look.

Today, I am sharing a little shoe inspo with one of my favorite shoe lines - Matisse Footwear, and my favorite pair of booties - the Matisse 'Slash' Bootie.

I get so many compliments on Social Media and anywhere I wear these boots. They are always a go-to for me. I love that they look great with neutral colors and black, and you can transform the style with any outfit.

I kept this outfit super basic and with some of my most recent favorite purchases:
Topshop denim and a lace Banana Republic top I snagged for $20!

My super good friends Lindsey and Christa over at Stay Styled Blog recently introduced me to a fab OC jewelry designer Candles & Confetti and I can get enough of her beautiful accessories.

If you're having a hard time finding just the right pair of booties that will last a lifetime, stick to these 3 simple rules:

1. Buy nice leather: anyone who has ever been sucked into buying those cute $30 booties has learned this lesson the hard way. Sure, they look great the first three times you wear them, but the second you scuff them, walk around in them  or wear them in, the "leather" cracks, scrapes, and they really start to look more like $10 boots instead of the $30 you spent. Instead of wasting your money buying a new pair every season, save up and get a nice pair, trust me you will thank me in the long run!

2. Go for a neutral color: Black, tan, or distressed brown (similar to mine) - you want to be able to wear your booties with many different looks, going for a nice neutral color will guarantee that no matter your accessories or accent colors you can pair them with anything.

3. Skip out on metals: don't get me wrong, I live for a boot with buckles, chains, or studs. I love that rocker-chic look, who doesn't? However, if you are looking for a long-wear  pair of boots that will never go out of style, stick with a clean leather without all the fuss. The best part about that is your jewels and accessories aren't limited to just silver or just gold!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Get out there and grab your dream booties, just tell you husband it was Amanda's order!

We have a teething baby, the Flu, and a busy weekend ahead, wish this Mama luck! Hahaha

With love,

P.S. Special shout-out to the cutest little sister and little cousin out there (both mine, of course) for snapping these pics for me while the husband was out of town last weekend! I mean, how amazing did they do?! Thanks girls!
