Flashback Friday: Baby Shower

Since I never got a chance to share details of my beautiful baby shower, I thought it would be fun to do a little "Flashback Friday" style entry so I could share all of the amazingness that took place.

I had been dreaming of my baby shower since the day I found out I was pregnant. I knew the color, theme, and style I wanted and I knew it wouldn't matter if I was having a boy or girl since the style was very gender neutral, which I love. I am not usually one for kitschy themes or gender color roles, I wanted an elegant and classic style, something that would be more timeless and less trendy. When I listed my wishes for decor, I was clear that I did not want to not copy any crafts from Pinterest, but wanted rather to incorporate personal style and decor I was attracted to from ideas I had while decorating my home and nursery so that everything felt more personal.

One thing that was very important to me was that myself, my mom and my mother-in-law really got to enjoy the day and the event. I live away from all of my family, and so I really wanted the day to be about catching up with family and I wanted to be sure we had the freedom to do so without worrying about handling food, decor or activities. To make sure this would happen, I decided to hire one of the best local event planners to handle all of the day's happenings. My good friend Cassie has recently expanded her event planning business, Golden Dot Events, and I knew that for this occasion I just had to have her! She creates the most beautiful settings and her design aesthetic was exactly what I was looking for. Hiring Golden Dot Events was the BEST decision I made. The event went on without a hitch, and my moms and I really got to just enjoy our day! I couldn't be more thankful for the beautiful event Cassie created for me.

Cassie was really able to take every idea and dream I had for the day and make it a reality.

Another thing that is very important to me is using local vendors. My husband and I are business owners, and we really love to show support for other local business owners. My desserts, florals, and rentals were all Dana Point and San Clemente vendors.

By the time my shower had come, I was a swollen, puffy mess. Between working daily on my feet and the heat we had experienced last summer, my feet and ankles just did not stand a chance... but I was DETERMINED to rock my heels and still look chic and stylish on my big day, and swollen legs and feet were not going to stop me!!

... you better believe I squeezed my puffy feet into these beauties!

I was also blessed with having such a fabulous photographer, Britney Moore, who captured the day perfectly. I am such a fan of her work and she really helped make these memories last a lifetime.

Since Rajan's name means "King" we purchased these OPI polishes called "My Kingdon, My Rules" as the party favors. I love OPI polishes, especially their fun names and colors!

I couldn't have been more fortunate to have had such a beautiful and memorable baby shower. I loved every part of the day, and when Rajan grows up I will be so happy and excited to share with him all of the love he was surrounded by from day 1.

Happy Friday, all!

With love,
Amanda
