Date Night

One of the trendiest and most posh looks this season is monochrome color blocking, and I feel that the prettiest and most fun color to do this with is white. This look is perfect for date night, or a night out on the town with the girlfriends, and you can restyle this look using any color or pattern; the more fun you have with it, the better!

What I love about color blocking is that it gives you the opportunity to really play up your accessories. For my look, I went for a bold necklace and clutch. I kept my shoes more neutral so that my top accessories really stood out! I also wanted the details of these pants to shine, I just LOVED the fun zipper detail around the waist and really wanted to play that up.

A quick little fashion secret of mine? Really learning where to "invest" for your closet. As you have probably noticed, I am a handbag and shoe girl! I think it is important to invest in a great, timeless bag, and/or a great pair (or two, or three...) of designer heels. When your key pieces are great quality, it doesn't matter what you spent on your clothing because the handbag or shoes gives the entire outfit a more "rich" look. I never care to spend too much on my clothes and I always feel very accomplished when I know I saved an extra buck or two, so I love to have fun and really make use of my handbags and shoes.

My shoe of choice? Christian Louboutin. What is not to love about these beautifully made shoes? Every time I put a pair on, no matter what I am wearing, I feel like a million bucks - the style, signature red bottoms, and sexiness are unmatched. As much as I would love to say that I have every style, color, and seasonal update for these amazing shoes, I don't. The key, though, is to purchase these investments wisely. If you are just starting out and looking to build up your closet, I always feel that it is best to purchase less trendy styles of these items as well as more universal colors -  Black, nude, tan, or any color that you know you will get plenty of use from and can mix up pretty easily. For my heels, I went with the classic pump in Camel. Even though this particular color was seasonal, it is so similar to Nude that is is equally as flexible - it just happened to look better against my skin tone.

You will find that I use this trick quite often when styling. One key piece will usually be high end designer, while the rest, pretty budget friendly. But most importantly? Stay true to your style, and always wear and invest in what FEELS good. The most expensive shoe or handbag in the world can kill a look if you are not being honest with it. Be sure to stick with what works for you, and always remember, trends will come and go, but style comes from the heart... :)

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! Thanks for reading!

With love,
Amanda
